Super Mario Catalog to be Released on Nintendo Switch to Celebrate 35th Anniversary

Everybody’s favorite red hot Italian plumber is turning 35 this year and rumor has it that Nintendo is cooking up something big to celebrate.

According to video game-related news website Video Games Chronicle, Nintendo is planning to “re-release most of Super Mario’s 35-year back catalog this year, remastered for Nintendo Switch”.

Eurogamer, a network partner to VGC, went further to report that among the remasters included will be:

  •  Super Mario 64 (originally released in 1997 on Nintendo 64)
  •  Super Mario Sunshine (originally released in 2002 on Nintendo Gamecube)
  •  Super Mario Galaxy (originally released in 2008 on Nintendo Wii)

Eurogamer also states that Nintendo intends to release “several other Mario titles” in 2020, which include a new entry in the Paper Mario series and a deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World.

What do you make of these supposed remasters? Have you played these games on their prospective platforms back when it released or will it be your first time experiencing these games if these rumors are confirmed?
